Ideal for freehand
drawing. HOWEVER! It was made
c.2007 so not designed for Windows operating systems later than XP. ALSO, the manufacturer
has ceased trading, so there is no support for drivers etc. If you can find the
drivers, you may be able to make it work on later versions of Windows (no idea
about Macs). As such, it would be
ideal for a tech-savvy someone who
(a) can run XP
(b) can be bothered
to surf the web for drivers/support forums etc

Nisis may have stopped trading, but the drivers are Aiptek, and they are certainly still going - in fact I think the tablet is a rebadged Aiptek model, as Aiptek seem to do a lot of this kind of work, (I believe they have also manufactured graphics tablets for Aldi in the past) and even a cursory glance on ebay will usually result in a collection of very similar looking, but differently branded tablets that are all Aiptek. Interestingly it works fine on Ubuntu 12.04 once the Aiptek drivers are installed, (already there in the repository/Software Centre) though I believe fine tuning is required in Gimp/Blender etc - only bought mine this afternoon 'second hand' in a scruffy box, but actually had never been used, a real bargain at £5! Not as nice to use as my Wacom, but great for my latest project - seeing how cheaply I can set up a pretty good graphics editing computer suite using older equipment - so far I've spent £45, and that's for the computer, graphics tablet printer/scanner and monitor plus keyboard and mouse. Will get this tablet working on Windows 7 too, and will report back here when I have :)
