Old holiday snaps

This unique collection of colour photography is almost 3 inches high.
Images are from (but not limited to) such diverse locations as:

  • Bath
  • Portmeirion
  • Prague
  • Saragossa
  • Greece (islands of Crete & Lesvos)
  • Germany (various)
  • Italy (Pisa & Florence)
  • Australia (Sydney & Queensland)
  • Belgium (Bruges?)
  • France (Paris, the Alps, Avignon etc)
  • Singapore (or possibly Kuala Lumpur)

Also included are various drunk people at various parties and various sober people in an office.

Frankly, the photography sucks. Nevertheless, this assortment is ideal for the casually nosy or anyone looking to reinvent their back story.

  1. Hi there,
I appreciate this is a bit of a long shot but I don't suppose you have a photo of my younger sister winning the girls 8-13yrs running race at Butlins, Filey in 1979?
She has blond hair and I believe she was wearing a white t shirt depicting Uncle Bulgaria and red chequered shorts.
If you do I know she would be very pleased as Mum and Dad were drunk on brown ale at the time and missed the finale. She has never fully forgiven them.
    Yours in anticipation.

  2. Sadly I can find only one image from said era and the location would appear to be c. 15 miles south of Huntingdon. Furthermore, the image is without any Womble ephemera, containing as it does one plastic ankylosaurus ambushing a second, unidentifiable, toy dinosaur. The ground is entirely asphalt and the magenta all but gone.

  3. Perfect!
I'll take a 10"x12" in a light oak frame please.
Please leave it in a plastic bag somewhere near the bandstand at Eton park and I will probably collect it at sometime over the weekend.

    Many thanks,
    AC

  4. Do you have any of me in Singapore (1943), Italy ('44, Monte Cassino) Bergen Belsen, Germany ('45 Liberation?) or having lunch with de Gaulle in 1952? I've lost mine.

  8. Dear DC
Alas, Freecycle has just disapproved my post on the grounds that I “do not have the permission of those people in the photos to distribute”. I still await clarification vis a vis the lakes, mountains & feral cats. In the interim, I can only recommend you contact your MP for a stern word.

  9. As my dear friend de Gaulle would have said... "Merde alors!".
All those memories gone, along with my collection of frog spawn......

  10. REVISED POST:
This unique lot of colour photography is approx 2.75 inches high.
Images are from (but not limited to) such diverse locations as:

    Bath
    Portmeirion
    Prague
    Saragossa
Greece (islands of Crete & Lesvos)
    Germany (various)
    Italy (Pisa & Florence)
    Australia (Sydney & Queensland)
    Belgium (Bruges?)
France (Paris, the Alps, Avignon etc)
    Singapore (or possibly Kuala Lumpur)

The collection includes NO identifiable persons, sober or otherwise. It does include some kangaroos and some feral cats.

Would make an ideal prop for a play set in the late 1990s or early 2000s.

  11. These have now been taken. NB, on the basis that the people in the photos never gave me their explicit permission to distribute their likenesses to Joe Public, any such images were withdrawn prior to distribution. No such privileges were accorded to the various flora and fauna therein.

Received: business card shaped like a pig
